“Zip” Travel Carrier
For Infantino
Project Goals: Most carriers are bulky and do not travel or store well when not in use. Design a lightweight travel carrier that is easy to always have with you. The design should simplify a trip with baby rather than adding another bulky item to carry. It should be easy to put on and take off quickly. Result: When baby is not being carried, the Zip carrier body and shoulder straps fold into the waist belt. It can then be worn or stored and not be cumbersome. This leaves parents with free hands, something that may be considered priceless! The carrier body and shoulder straps fold into the waist belt. Zip uses the same ripstop material as competitive products, yet is 1/3 the cost. The design allows the shoulder straps to be put on first, making it easier and safer to put baby in the carrier. Role: Project lead and designer for Infantino. The project included mockup making, participating in consumer research and testing, and sample review.
